I want to make this review short and sweet.
Now that I am starting to really digest that AMAZING Blackpool experience, I can properly begin with my reviews and thoughts.
I bought this product at Blackpool. I got my copy in the Euro version, and I wanted to share my opinion.
What is the effect?
You have 4 envelopes.
Each of them has a different color.
The one they choose (more on that later) is the one that contains a special prize (more on that later too). Then you show that the others contain bills, in my case €50 notes. Kind of like a Bank Night effect.
What do you receive?
You receive 4 beautiful Tyvek colored envelopes that are really well made, as well as fake notes already set up.
Price: £35 at Blackpool.
Review:
This is a simple, quick Bank Night effect you can perform in close up, stage or parlor. It’s ready to go out of the box and you can customize it with any reveal you want. The envelopes are well made, the size is just right to carry around, and it’s very easy to perform. Nonetheless, I didn’t spot the method when it was shown to me. I just didn’t.
The reset is literally 2 seconds. You will need to reset without anyone looking, but it can easily be done while moving from one table to another. It’s just great.
I do disagree with one small point. I remember TrickTrick Boom saying that it was a simple, short, instant Bank Night routine. While this is technically true, I think you can easily extend this routine into a 5 to 8 minute performance.
By directing the routine on a psychological level, using colors, left or right choices, and trying to influence people, even linking each colored envelope to personality types, search “personality test” on Google, you can really develop a nice and captivating routine to fit your character and persona. In my case, I adapted it so they win a lolly. I start by saying that everything in life starts with a decision. The power of a decision, an intent. And that there are lessons to be learned from making choices.
So it starts quite seriously, right? I like to ask the youngest participant to join in, often a child at the table. At the end, when I reveal the bills, I add a touch of humor but emphasize what they get and feel rather than what they could have had. I make it somewhat motivating in a way.
There’s plenty of room to develop your routine here.
You can customize the reveal using a dry erase pen, so if you want to change it in the future, you can.
Another little idea, you can carry only 2 envelopes instead of 4. In that case, you create a 50/50 effect with two envelopes, let’s say the red and blue ones, and you can also present it with a Matrix style theme.
Overall I really like this product.
I bought it and I use it. Simple to perform, quick to reset, fun and engaging. Great job TrickTrick Boom.
